For The Web (2).jpgAET is pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Hultgren, P.G. to the position of Environmental Engineering Manager in our St. Paul, Minnesota office. In his new role, Mr. Hultgren will be responsible for the management of the environmental engineering department in St. Paul, expanding environmental capabilities throughout our service region, and building key business relationships across the state. “Environmental engineering and brownfields redevelopment are strong markets for AET,” said Vice President, Environmental Service Gail Cederberg, Ph.D. “Mike’s extensive experience and leadership will help us continue to innovate and grow these markets in the coming years.”

Mr. Hultgren brings his 30 years of expertise in environmental due diligence, site investigation and cleanup, and brownfield redevelopment to the AET environmental team. His most recent projects have included multiple MnDOT highway corridor assessments across Minnesota, assisting Hennepin County with brownfield redevelopment in Minneapolis, and investigating agricultural chemical releases in southern Minnesota. As a project manager and leader within AET, Mr. Hultgren focuses on technical excellence, consistency, and effective communications with clients and staff. Early in his career, Mr. Hultgren conducted several hydrogeological investigations on remote islands in Lake Michigan and Lake Superior; overseeing drilling operations and collecting soil and groundwater samples. It was during these projects he learned the value of anticipating and being prepared to effectively manage issues as they arise, and he will bring this strong value of preparation to the management of AET's environmental team.

Alongside his management duties, Mr. Hultgren is an active member in many industry associations, including the Minnesota Groundwater Association, Minnesota Brownfields, the Economic Development Association of Minnesota (EDAM), the Minnesota Center for Mineral Resource Education where he serves as board chair, and the American Institute of Professional Geologist (AIPG) where he is a past president of the Minnesota chapter.
