AET promotes Marsha Hadd, MBA to the role of Controller

Hadd, Marsha.jpgMarsha Hadd, MBA, of American Engineering Testing, Inc. (AET) has been promoted to Controller. In her new role, Hadd will be responsible for leading AET further into business process enhancements and system integrations to strengthen reporting, training support and the tools necessary to build and nurture client relationships. “Marsha is very skilled at developing proactive invoicing and accounting practices that deliver value to our trusted partner clients.” said CFO Robert Krogsgaard. “I know she is ready and up for the challenge of being both a leader and a learner in this role. I look forward to working with Marsha as she assumes greater responsibility and grows with AET.”

Fresh off receiving her bachelors in accounting from Metro State University, Hadd joined AET in 2002 as the Accounting Supervisor. In one early role, she led the company with systems integrations across all regions, creating a more streamlined and functional accounting system. Hadd kept her momentum going and earned her Masters in Business Administration with a major in Accounting in 2010 and was promoted to Assistant Controller in 2011.

As a leader within AET, Hadd has helped the company transition and almost double in size over the last 13 years. Whether it is the paperless initiative or creating training and tools to assist in the new project management program, Hadd leads by example. “Leadership to me is all about listening with open ears,” Hadd comments, “if you listen to what people are saying and address issues as conversations, you will build credibility and successful relationships with them.” This philosophy is most evident in how Hadd has helped evolve the accounting department at AET. In her time with the company, Hadd has successfully restructured the department into small teams to better address the needs of the internal and external clients and to create opportunities for growth. “When you build a talented team based on mutual trust, you can create growth opportunities that fit your team members’ individual goals and aspirations, while excelling at client service” adds Hadd.

Looking forward, Hadd is excited about the future. She is constantly working on ways to improve processes and resolve issues. She is committed to further streamlining the accounting operations, developing more efficient tools for the project manager training program, increasing employee development, and continuing to build positive internal and external client relationships. Hadd is passionate that leaders be actively engaged at every level. She leads with the philosophy that “everyone should set someone else up for success, sometimes that means we have to go outside our comfort zone, but when someone else succeeds that means we all succeed.” Hadd’s skills and leadership are not only recognized within AET. In 2013 she was honored as one of the Top Women in Finance by Finance and Commerce newspaper for outstanding contributions to her profession and community in Minnesota.
