AET is excited to welcome industry expert, Chris Hartnett, PE, LEED AP, to the Building Technology Division as a Principal Engineer. Chris has over 20 years of experience in the evaluation and design of existing buildings. His past projects include the Minnesota State Capitol Renovation, Pillsbury A-Mill Investigation, Pantages Theater Renovation, U of M Combined Heat and Power Plant Adaptive Reuse and many other projects, large and small.
Chris brings a passion for the history embodied within existing buildings, and he brings a strong understanding of archaic building systems and historic materials. He is a local leader within the structural engineering community existing buildings, having given presentations to the U of M Masonry Series Historic Arch Design and Preservation and Sustainability. He is licensed in 12 states and the District of Columbia, he is nationally certified by the Structural Engineering Certification Board (SECB) and is a former member of the International Existing Building (IEBC) Code Committee.
