MN Indemnification Bill Seminar

MN Indemnification Bill Seminar

AET’s Dan Larson was a key ACEC witness during legislative hearings and will be speaking at the ACEC/MN PAC session on the new law’s impacts.

Are you ready for Minnesota’s new anti-indemnification statute signed into law by Governor Dayton in May? The ACEC/MN PAC is holding an informational session on June 19, 2014 about how to best advise clients about it’s impact on their contracts when the law goes into effect August 1.

AET President Dan Larson, PE was a key witness for ACEC/MN during legislative hearings. At the forum, he will present his perspective on the new law and then introduce a panel of legal experts. After seven years of hard work, the new statute provides that indemnity agreements which attempt to force design professionals to take on an uninsurable risk for the fault of others are void and unenforceable in Minnesota.

The presentation will be given by: Members of the ACEC indemnification task force–Mark Bloomquist of Meagher & Geer, PLLP, Eric Heiberg of Heley, Duncan & Melander, PLLP, and Holly Newman of DeWitt Mackall Crounse & Moore S.C., Daniel Larson of American Engineering Testing, Inc., and Randy Morris, ACEC/MN lobbyist.

Date: Thursday, June 19
Time: 8:00 am – Continental breakfast
           8:30 – 9:30 am – Presentation and Q&A
Location: Marriott Minneapolis West – 9960 Wayzata Blvd, Minnetonka
Cost: This is a FREE event sponsored by the MN PAC

*As of February 2016 Daniel Larson, PE, is CEO of AET
