Employment | Internships and Co-ops | Career Development | Benefits | Safety Program

At American Engineering Testing, Inc. (AET), the health and well being of our employees is of greatest importance. It is our policy to conduct field, laboratory and office activities in a manner that promotes safety and protection of employees, clients and the public.

Through the collective and continuous efforts of every employee, the Health and Safety Director, Management and the Safety Committee, our goal to reduce injuries and eliminate hazards is achieved. We are fully committed to providing regular employee training and dedicate significant resources toward that end.

Every employee at AET completes an extensive safety orientation program upon initial hire; on-the-job training is conducted for all safety-sensitive positions; additional safety training is a requirement on most worksites; employees are encouraged to report all safety incidents and accidents; each incident/accident is promptly and thoroughly investigated; safety issues are a regular topic in department meetings; the safety committee meets monthly and publishes a newsletter featuring any concerns and other safety related information. Further, the Company provides annual safety refresher training in a number of areas including, but not limited to: Hazardous Materials Handling, Right-to-Know, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Excavation Safety, Bloodborne Pathogens, Ergonomics, Back Injury Prevention, First Aid and CPR.

AET’s Drug-Free Workplace Program includes pre-employment and reasonable suspicion testing. The Program expanded in January 2003 to include company-wide random drug testing for all safety-sensitive positions. We fully embrace substance abuse prevention and offer counseling and treatment in our employee’s health plan.

Employees are expected to contribute to their own and fellow employee’s health and safety by learning and exercising safe work practices and complying with the requirements of the Corporate Health and Safety Manual.
